       CHILTON --- SPL --- In a small cottage near Deer Creek live Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Williams.  Mrs. Williams came to Texas in 1876 and settled in Grayson County before moving to Central Texas.  She remembers seeing antelope, bear, wild turkey, and buffalo.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Williams came from the same place in Northwest Alabama.
Mr. Williams came to Bruceville in 1891.  Then for the past 50 years Mr. Williams has been Democratic chairman.  The last 20 of these years the office has been elective.  In 1904-1910 while liviing in the Cego-Blevins area he was also a constable.
